TrueGenix® was founded through the partnership of Dr. Jonathan R.T. Lakey, Ph.D., MSM, and William H. Gafford Jr.

Dr. Lakey is an internationally recognized expert in biomaterials, stem cells, diabetes, and islet transplantation. He is Professor Emeritus in the Departments of Surgery and Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where he previously served as Director of Research for the Clinical Islet Program and Stem Cell Laboratory. With over 500 peer-reviewed publications, numerous book chapters, and multiple patents, his work has significantly advanced the global understanding and clinical application of stem cell–derived therapies.

Gafford Jr. is a former banking executive and healthcare innovator with extensive experience in scaling medical technologies and building strategic partnerships within the healthcare ecosystem.
